Richard Cunningham

Mr. Cunningham is the President and CEO of the Markham Board of Trade where he started in 2008. Prior to this, Mr. Cunningham served for 14 years as the President and CEO of the Canadian Franchise Association during which time he was one of the founding members of the World Franchise Council and served as its first Co Chair during this time Mr. Cunningham served on the provincial committee to develop the Ontario Franchise Legislation (The Arthur Wishart Act). He also served on a federal committee to create a Canadian model franchise law.

In addition to his full time positions Richard has served as President of the Toronto Children’s Aid Society receiving their highest award “the crystal heart”, a long standing volunteer at the Scott Mission of Toronto, the Canadian Ski Patrol and in the Emergency Dept. at Sunnybrook health Center.
