Dr. Farrokh Zandi

Dr. Farrokh Zandi is currently a professor in the Economics Area and the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs (BBA and International BBA) and the director of International Business designation at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Carleton University. His fields of specialization are International Economics, Economic Policy and Monetary Economics. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Administration at Pahlavi University in Shiraz.
He joined York University in 1991 and has previously taught as Wilfrid Laurier University, Brock University, and McGill University. Farrokh Zandi has published several manuscripts in refereed Economic journals, and has written textbooks, instructor manuals, guides, and articles in professional journals. Farrokh Zandi has also received numerous awards and recognitions including the Seymour Schulich Award for Teaching Excellence at Schulich School of Business. In academic year 2017-2018, he received the first-place teaching excellence award for his teaching in graduate programs. He regularly appears in the media with national and global networks such as Canadian Broadcasting National Television, The Global Television, Canadian Report on Business TV, BBC Persian, Voice of America Persian, Andisheh TV, Iran International and local Toronto TV and radio stations such as ITC, Shahr Ma TV, Radio 680 (All News), IranZamin, Passargad; as well other ethnic media such as Toronto Chinese daily program. Farrokh Zandi has also served on several boards as a Chair or board member, including the Iranian Advisory Council at Family Service Association of Metro Toronto (1993-2001), the Reference Group at the Ontario Ministry of Health (2005-continuing), the Iranian-Canadian Network for Employment and Entrepreneurship Mentoring (2002- 2007), and has received the Volunteer Award from FSA as well as the York Region. He was also the President of the Iranian Canadian Congress in Ontario, between 2012-2014.
